About
FA.BA. is an Italian Company
that was founded in 1980 and is located in the city of Genova.
In the beginning, its production consisted in the artisan manufacture
of layered, reinforced fibreglass materials, but after the first year
or so its true potential became a reality thanks to its founder's vast
experience in the matter of composite materials.
Thanks to such potential, after about two years new equipment for the
production of epoxy resin-based plates was installed and the first
pieces of machinery were introduced to the workshop. This made it
possible to produce parts based on customer specifications and
drawings.
A year later FA.BA started producing parts based on Filament Winding
technology. Almost immediately, ring manufacture included windings of
up to 3000mm in diameter, but they had a limited weight of 350kg.
In 1985 FA.BA was the only company in Italy, and perhaps in Europe,
that was able to supply all kinds of insulating materials such as
insulating caps, inner enclosures, support rings and any other item
that could be obtained with plates machinery.
In 1998, thanks to its 20 years of experience, FA.BA started
manufacturing medium-large rings, reaching a diameter of 3200mm and a
weight, per piece, of 1 tonne.
Today we are able to produce rings of up to 3700mm in diameter or 500mm
in height, still within the 1 tonne limit.
